Father Arturo Sosa’s visits to the various Provinces of the Society, here and there in the world, allow us to collect images of his interactions not only with Jesuits but also with so many groups of people associated with the Society of Jesus.

We have often encouraged you to look at our photo albums that illustrate these visits. However, the communication teams of the Provinces that hosted Father General also offer, after his departure, a short video production that summarizes the highlights of the visit. This week, our website features some of these videos.

Let’s start with the video montage of the most recent visit, in Andalusia.

In November, Fr. Arturo Sosa responded to the invitation to be a keynote speaker at the 2nd International Congress on St. John of Avila (see the article Towards a discerning Church). He took the opportunity to visit the Jesuit communities in southern Spain, Andalusia. In four days, an intense programme of meetings and talks took him to Seville, Córdoba, Úbeda, Granada and Málaga. The Jesuit commitments to education at all levels have been highlighted, whether in a working-class neighbourhood on the “periphery” or on the brand new campus of the only Jesuit university in southern Spain. Relive in images this journey, which illustrates so well the activity of the Society of Jesus on Spanish soil, an activity that involves more and more lay people, men and women, in the service of an ambitious mission that Father Sosa has no hesitation to call Missio Dei.
