In accordance with guidelines enforced by the civil authorities, it was possible for all the staff members of the General Curia to return to a regular working schedule starting Monday, 18 May. For two weeks already, lay people had begun to come to the office on certain days while continuing to do part of their work remotely.
Father General wanted to mark this new phase in the activity of the Curia in the midst of the pandemic that is still rampant and requires many precautions. He has chosen to gather his entire team, Jesuits and lay colleagues, around the Eucharistic table and celebrate, in an anticipated manner, one of the feasts of the Society of Jesus, the feast of Our Lady of the Way (Nostra Signora della Strada).
In his homily - which you can read by clicking here - Father Sosa reminds us that Mary has guided and continues to guide the Society on the road of life and the roads of the world in all the circumstances of human history. The celebration provided an opportunity to remember Jesuits, family members and friends who have died during this time of pandemic that affects us all.
